Kho Khao Island covers an area of 63 square kilometers or 39,375 Rai. Significant forest types on this island include mangroves, hill evergreen forest, and grass fields. Other areas are used for agriculture, including the cultivation of various fruits, rubber trees and oil palms. Furthermore, fishery, shrimp farming represents income possibility for local people. More interestingly the beaches on the western side of the island as well as the northern and southern coasts are located with resorts and restaurants and often used by sea turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs
